We just about always stay at the Grand Dessert. I'm surprised I found it listed under hotels as it is all condos. We like it because you can get in and out fast without shuffling behind a bunch of people on the strip and the parking is close and free. Located about 17 miles west of the Strip Red Rock Canyon is a National Conservation Area and offers breathtaking views and allows you to experience the Mojave Desert. Scenic drives, hiking trails and biking trails are available. Pack a pic nic and enjoy the rest areas or go for a horseback ride.
About an hour away, drive, take a guided tour bus or a helicopter ride to the Hoover Dam. Take a tour of the power plant, presentations in the theater level, exhibits and an observation deck.
Located a couple of hours away Death Valley is the lowest, driest and hottest area in North America. Despite the name it offers a diverse wildlife and flora. Explore some of the 3 million acres of designated wilderness with a guided tour, or following some of the hiking trails, biking trails and take in the expanse and beauty of the desert.
Take the day exploring the majestic Grand Canyon. There are helicopter tours, bus tours and activities for the whole family to enjoy.
However you travel you will experience the Hualapai Tribal Lands and explore the stunning views from the Skywalk 4000 feet above the canyon floor.
